I owned two of these in black bodies purchased brand new by mail order from Japan.  When they sent them to me they removed the name plate (that why it has screws) so it could get through customs at a cheaper rate and so it would not violate the technical terms of the Nikon USA distribution deal (the cameras were cheaper in Japan back then).  The name plate and the screws were mailed in a separate envelope.  This was the photojournalist camera of choice in 1967 and 1968 and these cameras documented the turbulent era from Vietnam to urban riots (although they did not go to the moon).
